November 15, 2019 - Version 2.0 of Bee Aware! released on Steam (full version) and itch.IO/IndieDB (demo)!
Summary of the past few months:
Split the maingame and the games section into two separate screens.
Added some spice to some of the games:
- Bee vs Mites has laser effect flower.
- Bee Amazed has lethal enemies that jump you.
- Bee't the Bear has a hornet scout and swarm.
- Bee Fast has grenades and rockets.
Added a new game, Bee Brave!, a classic text adventure.
Added animated transition screens for win and lose.
Billy Joe Henry Bob has his own House of Fun (animated backdrop).
New mini-minigame, Whack-a-Bee.
15 new achievements.
Improved code under the hood, better memory management and faster gameplay.
April 29, 2019 - Update is on it's way!
I've been busy updating and improving Bee Aware!
Summary:
Revamped the startscreen, continents are now depicted by actual representations, instead of a rectangle.
Seperated the games from the startscreen, they now have they're own gamehub.
When you start a mini-minigame, Billy Joe Henry Bob now 'invites' you to 'BJHB House of Fun'!
Rewrote part of Bee vs Mites, eliminated some bugs.
Added extra effect to Bee vs Mites, you can now shoot mites with a laser!
Animated objects in Bee vs Mites now have shadow.
Added an overview of available puzzles to Bee Puzzled.
In order to add some spice to Bee't the Bear, I introduced the hornet scout :) Ofcourse, a scout means nothing without a swarm, so beware!
Billy Joe Henry Bob now also tries to kill you with grenades and rockets in Bee Fast.
When you lose, or reset the game, the background now turns into a thunderstorm. That'll make you think twice before losing or resetting!
When you win, or complete the game, the background turns into a sunrise, accompanied by soothing music. Just for that well earned moment of Zen...
General: reorganised code and eliminated some more (minor) bugs.
Still have to add some extra achievements for Steam (kill mites with laser, kill hornet scout).
To do:
If you stare for too long at an enemy in Bee Amazed, they will jump you and you'll lose a life.
Fix newly created bugs (that's what you get with updates... more bugs!).
July 19, 2018 - New Demo available! Battle MegaMite in Bee vs Mites!
Summary of the past few months:
I've been polishing Bee Aware! for the last two months, and am rounding up the last bits. A new demo has been uploaded, together with new screenshots (new video's will follow soon (edit: done!). Bee vs Mites (a topdown scroller) has been upgraded, and now includes realistic, thick smoke effects, water and leaves effects, a smoother gameloop and a boss level. Bee vs Mites is playable from the demo, as is Bee Puzzled (jigsaw game).
More updates:
The playable bee now has animated wings.
Improved interface for the quizzes (Bee Smart - 5 quizzes, 20 questions each).
A set of 18 new card foregrounds and 75 new images (total 150) for the memory game (Bee Remembered).
New (small) end animation for Bee Remembered.
Added a ghost to Bee Amazed (maze game). If it catches you, you're forced to solve an equation (the ghost used to be a teacher).
New (small) end animation for Bee Puzzled.
Added 20 images to the jigsaw game, which makes a total of 50 images.
Made 4 themes for Bee't the Bear (puzzle game), summer, autumn, winter and a desert theme.
Added three difficulty levels to Bee Fast (arcade game).
Implemented a day/night cycle in Bee Fast (I love it when the lights of the tractor and plane are activated).
Added a lot of nonsensical text to BB, a bee that talks too much , whichs brings me to a total of 211 silly texts.
Improved overall gameplay, cleaned up unnecessary code, improved graphics where needed etc. etc.
Added extra achievements for Steam (beat the boss, solve an equation etc.).
